Members of the Criminal Intelligence Unit of the Cook County Sheriff's Department in Illinois have their work cut out for them. They interact with prisoners at the Cook County Jail, hoping to "squeeze" information out of them that can be used in the fight against Chicago's gangs. Since the jail takes in as many as 1,000 new inmates each day, there are plenty of opportunities to be had -- as one officer puts it, "You gotta know how to play it. It's a big chess game." But there's also no shortage of inmates willing to do anything they can to get out of jail or make a plea bargain.
