For her first feature film, Swiss director Judith Kennel returned to a Catholic Girl's boarding school in the Alps where she spent many unhappy days as a teenager. The main character of Zornige Küsse (Angry Kisses) is Lea, a teenager Kennel likens to herself during her school days; rebellious, mischievous, a source of frustration for her parents. Like Kennel, Leah is forced into a boarding school as a last resort by her mother, but where fact and fiction depart is in Leah's scheme to break free of the institution. Sexual harassment is the name of the game here and Leah's pawn is her handsome teacher, Father Bachmann (played by Jürgen Vogel, one of Germany's hottest actors). Luring the priest into an intimate encounter before slapping him with charges starts out as pretty good plan, until Leah realizes that she is in love with the man.
