Zeb and Zeke are a pair of stereotypical "rubes," right down to the fake beards and incessant tobacco-spitting. Both men fall madly in love with a pretty widow, and both invite themselves into her parlor. In trying to impress the lady with their eligibility as husband, Zeb and Zeke succeed only in making themselves look even more ridiculous than they already are. Incredibly, the widow is amused and flattered by their antics, indicating perhaps that she isn't a whole lot brighter than her would-be suitors. The Variety critics raked this Lubin comedy over the coals, complaining about the unrealistic performances of the leading characters.
