This documentary honors the life story of the director's father, a Viennese Jew who fled Germany and survived imprisonment in France to live his final days (in his nineties) in a very small apartment in New York. His view of the world is so perfectly the product of his origins that even such items as telephone books become strange and exotic items, and his favorite local "coffeehouse" turns out to be McDonalds. The colorful old gentleman laments the fact that there are so few attractive women over eighty years of age, and comments that he found the return of Halley's Comet quite disappointing.
