In this tour-de-force of cinema verite, playwright and actor Jussi Parvianinen lets the cameras in as he spends five sleepless days attempting to cope with the fact that his wife has left him for another man. Most of the footage follows his conversations (more like harangues, really), with his soon-to-be ex-wife. Eventually her new boyfriend tells him to stop harassing her. When he's not on the phone making a nuisance of himself, he chainsmokes and complains about his lot, at the same time admitting that he's no great prize - he's been a philandering louse on more than one occasion. It is impossible to tell just how much he is showing off for the cameras, as he appears unaware of their presence; Jussi's ex-wife and her boyfriend threatened on several occasions to bring a lawsuit against him for recording (and using) their voices without their permission. It's difficult to classify this film as a documentary; the events shown are entirely real, but the subject matter and manner in which it is shown make it look more like a drama.
