The annual boat regalia between Yale and Harvard in New London, Connecticut was the focal point of this 4-minute film. The oarsmen stroke-stroke-stroke in unison, cheered on by an enthusiastic crowd. Were this not a silent film, undoubtedly the strains of "Boola Boola" would have been heard in the air. The only complaint made by one critic of the time was that the placement of the cameras made it difficult to determine the identity of the winning team. The critic would have been advised to ask any Yalee or Harvardite on the newspaper's staff (not that there were too many of those back in 1908).
