This 27-minute documentary was produced on behalf of the National Tuberculosis Association. Tracing the progress of a "typical" male TB patient, the film is a paean to 50 years' worth of progress made in treating this once-deadly disease. A brief history of such pioneering TB-fighters as Dr. Lawrence Flick is offered, together with an elucidation of the "fresh air" treatment recommended by Dr. Trudeau. The film was photographed by Hollywood's Boris Kaufmann, providing a polish professional veneer not often found in medical documentaries. In keeping with the commercial strictures of the era, at no time is cigarette smoking listed as a contributing factor to tuberculosis.
