Olive Tell plays a snobbish society girl who gets her comeuppance -- and likes it -- in this independently made drama. Olive Muir (Tell) is engaged to Dick (Denton Vane). She is not thrilled when her mother (Ida Pardee) invites Alice Prentice (Raye Dean) to come visit. She's even less thrilled with Alice's drunken father (J.D. Walsh). The haughty young society miss is shocked to discover that she is adopted, and her parents are actually Prentice and his wife (Margaret Seddon), and Alice is her sister. She decides to visit her real mother, who is ill, and finds the Prentice home quite poor. The experience awakens Olive's sense of right and wrong when she discovers that Prentice is under the thumb of political boss Kavanaugh (Edwards Davies). District attorney Kent Ordway (John O'Brien) wants to clean up the dirty backroom dealings, and Olive aligns herself with him. Kavanaugh kills Prentice in a fight and back home, Olive discovers that Dick has fallen in love with Alice. This is just as well, as she has decides that Ordway is the man for her.
