Filmmaker Gary Farmer doesn’t stop. Addressing themes that have profound meaning and real value, Farmer returns to Sundance for the fourth time with his film, What the Eagle Hears. The film tells the stories of three First Nations women whose lives are challenged by physical disabilities, abuse, personal tragedy, and disillusionment. Farmer’s treatment of these women’s stories is woven through poetic imagery, personal testimony, and visceral composition. The film documents their healing journey and may, in some manner, contribute to the strength of their survival through the process of self-reflection.
