Polly (Mae Marsh) runs away from her abusive stepmother (Josephine Crowell). She is accompanied by her grandfather (Spottiswood Aitken), who believes he has committed a murder. Polly disguises herself as a boy, hoping it will throw off the detectives on his trail. While in boy's clothes, she meets confirmed woman-hater Eddie Douglas (Robert Harron). Of course, by the time it is discovered that Polly is a girl, the two have fallen in love. Meanwhile, it turns out that Grandpa didn't kill anyone after all. The script to this story was by Anita Loos, and it was one of her rare misses. This story wasn't at all suited to Mae Marsh's girlish persona.
