Despite the phenomenal success that W. Edwards Deming encountered with his management techniques in Japan following WWII, his advice was largely ignored in the U.S. His philosophy was based on a 14-point system, and helped to turn Japan into a manufacturing powerhouse. In W. Edwards Deming: Prophet Unheard, actual footage is shown of Deming as he presents his concept, which is based on quality control. Eventually, the Ford Motor Company adopted his strategies, and was able to experience more of a competitive edge against foreign companies.
