Victory was written by Boyd Cable, a specialist in military melodramas, and directed by M. A. Wetherell, who'd previously helmed the WWI docudrama The Somme. As the Germans advance into France in 1918, thousands of refugees flee to the safety of England. One of these is wealthy young Marie Dulac (Julie Suedo), who is aided in her escape by British airman Seth Lee (Moore Marriott). Later on, Lee is assigned to drop a Canadian officer, Major King (Walter Butler), behind enemy lines for purposes of sabotage. Their plane is shot down, forcing Lee and King to take shelter in a cottage near the chateau where Marie had once lived. To his dismay, Lee discovers that Marie has returned to her home, and is apparently consorting with the enemy. It turns out, however, that Marie is carrying out counter-espionage activities right under the Germans' noses, permitting a happier ending than expected.
