The Okura studio's usual run of softcore exploitation films was given something of a boost in the early '80s with the work of director Dai Iizumi, who -- although strictly third-tier in the pinku eiga pantheon -- at least made some attempt to introduce more dramatic plotting to the subgenre. This one stars Yuuki Kawai as a businessman who runs into an old flame (Mimi Sawaki) shortly after dumping his betrothed (Ami Takatori) while on vacation at a seaside hotel. After a torrid reunion tumble, they both have regrets and confused feelings about what they have done, and try to help each other sort through those feelings before deciding what to do next. This is fairly impressive work from a studio not generally known for its thoughtful story lines.
