Filmmaker Alex MacKenzie presents a new way to visualize the world of insects in this experimental short subject. In Underfoot, MacKenzie employed an innovative technique in film exposure in which the shapes and patterns of bugs are exposed onto film stock, resulting in a dizzying barrage of images. Produced with the participation of the National Film Board of Canada, Underfoot was screened in competition at the 2007 Rotterdam International Film Festival.
