A Hungarian Gypsy community in the 1950s provides the backdrop for this tale of a young boy who is fascinated with airplanes and decides he's going to teach himself how to build and fly a plane of his own. This bright and hopeful tale of the past is contrasted with a parallel story set in the present day, in which a journalist working on a story about a woman who works as an advocate for the homeless attempts to pursue a personal relationship with her subject. Tunderdomb was shown in competition at the Hungarian Millennial Film Week in early 2001.
