Originally conceived as a thesis project for the Japan Film School, this film points the camera at filmmaker Yasunori Terada's own life and his marriage to a 27-year-old Filipina hostess named Teresa. After being in relationships with three other Filipina women, Terada agrees to marry Teresa after she reveals that she is pregnant with his child. Terada's conservative parents are outright opposed to the wedding, and his sister, Sanae, refuses to invite her to her own wedding. When Sanae ventures to the Philippines for her brother's wedding, she and her soon-to-be sister-in-law reconcile. Later, Terada and Teresa buy a plot of land in Manila.
