Enterprising Gower Gulch actor-director-writer Leo Maloney starred in this low-budget Western as a cowboy with romantic problems. Harvey Martin (Maloney) loves Helen Williams (Josephine Hill) and she loves him, but Helen's mother (Evelyn Thatcher) disapproves of the match. After beating his rival Larry Simons (Leonard Clapham aka Tom London) to a pulp, Harvey comes across Dorothy Willis (Grace Rouch) who along with her infant child (Baby Charlotte Johnson), is fleeing an abusive husband. Harvey brings the mother and child to his home, which is where they are found by Helen and her haughty parent. The latter is about to charge Harvey with intentions of becoming a bigamist, when the abusive Willis (Barney Furey) shows up accompanied by a couple of red necks and a free-for-all breaks out. Harvey manages to calm everyone down and Mrs. Williams regrets her former disposition. More of a romantic melodrama than an outright Western, The Trouble Buster was nevertheless written by action expert Ford I. Beebe.
