Silent child star Baby Marie Osmond displays her charms once again in this five-reel feature. She is little Mary Sunshine, who lives next door to a crotchety old millionaire (Daniel Gilfether). She wins his heart -- as Baby Marie always does with the crotchety old men in her films -- and he treats her to a wonderful birthday dinner at his home. A storm passes through, so he puts her up for the night. Mary's father (Henry King, who often played her father, and just as often directed her films) breaks into the millionaire's house -- not in search of his daughter, as one would think. He's run into financial difficulty because he used company funds to play the stock market and his intention is to rob the millionaire. But he's caught by both Mary and the old man. Mary thinks he was just planning a nice surprise for her. The millionaire, being a lot older and wiser, knows the score, but he loves the little girl so much that he helps the father out and makes efforts to put him back on the right track.
