Eventually the perils of his job and a drug addiction drive him to complete poverty and it is only when his father (Kent Cheng Chuk-see) dies that he is able to climb out of the gutter, begin a life on the straight and narrow and join the Christian New Being Fellowship. The real-life Chan "Swindler" Wah is one of this film's screenwriters.
