A strong-willed Buddhist teen from a remote village in the Himalayas strives to start an all-girls hockey team in director Hakan Berthas's entry into the 2007 Hot Docs International Film Festival. Dolkar may hail from a small village named Ladakh, but her desire to play ice hockey is larger than life. As the young girl gathers some used equipment, assembles a team of village girls (many of whom have never even put on a pair of ice skates), enlists the aid of a coach, and even manages to make a rink, it seems as if her ambitious dreams are finally taking form. Unfortunately, it seems that the Sportsmans' Association -- steadfast in their insistence that girls participate in ice dancing and not ice hockey -- and a decided lack of players may sideline their hopes of participating in the annual tournament on the temple pond. But Dolkar isn't ready to give up so easily, and after drafting some Muslim women from a neighboring community, it appears as if her team will finally have enough players to qualify in the tournament.
