In this personal and impressionistic film from artist and animator Glenda Wharton, a shy young girl whose life has been scarred by domestic violence begins investigating the world that exists beyond her room. As the girl drifts into a world of strange happenings and bizarre creatures, she is pursued by Zo, a monster who is dangerous but strangely beautiful at the same time, while other beings haunt the netherworld in which the damaged hold sway. Glenda Wharton created The Zo using hand-drawn animation techniques, with the filmmaker responsible for all the film's striking artwork. The Zo was an official selection at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.
