Unfortunately, this isn't the legendary, never-seen Joseph Von Sternberg picture. Sir Arthur Chelton (Jack Livingston) finds an unconscious woman, lashed to a raft just off shore. He brings her home and when she comes to, her memory is a blank. This doesn't stop her and Chelton from falling in love, however, and in spite of the protests of his various family members, they wed. But at an Embassy ball, she meets up with a foreign spy, Ivan, and her memory comes back -- he brutally forced her into a loveless marriage. As a form of blackmail, Ivan makes her steal important papers belonging to Chelton. But she can't stand the deceit and confesses to everything. Ivan is conveniently shot by his accomplice, so the papers are safe and the woman's past marriage doesn't matter after all.
