Margery Williams' beloved children's classic comes to life through the magic of claymation as the tale of a bond forged between a boy and his favorite stuffed animal offers an important lesson in the power of love. Though the velveteen rabbit is initially rejected by the young boy, a dose of "nursery magic" brings the toy to life in the child's imagination and the two are soon inseparable. When the boy falls ill and his doctor orders the rabbit destroyed out of fears that it will become infected, the grief of losing his favorite toy finds the boy falling into a deep depression. Informed by the Nursery Fairy that if something is truly loved it will live on forever, the ailing child takes solace in the belief that his favorite toy will always be there by his side.
