In the wake of the popular drive-in resurgence of the early 21st century, filmmaker Marcin Sauter profiles two men looking to resurrect the traveling picture show for contemporary Polish country-dwellers who may not be so familiar with the modern multiplex. Derek and Michel are two entrepreneurs whose mission it is to travel the Polish countryside and nurture a lifelong love of cinema. Armed with little more than a projector and a handful of 16 mm classics, Derek and Michel set off on a whimsical journey that will find them making new friends, exploring new horizons, and selflessly sharing their passion for movies with a sometimes skeptical audience. From cramped community rooms to hastily assembled outdoor venues, Derek and Michel will set up a theater virtually anywhere if it means the chance of seeing a cinema-deprived child bask in the warm and inviting glow of the projector bulb for the very first time.
