In one of the more sensationalistic serials of the 1910s (which says a lot), veteran femme fatale Rosemary Theby appeared as an Egyptian princess wreaking havoc in the lives of those who stole a priceless jewel, "The Eye of the World," from the tomb of an ancient Pharaoh. Director Francis Ford starred himself as the stalwart hero who rescues Mae Gaston and others from the wrath of Princess Kah. Louis Burston produced the serial, which was written in a rather breathless manner by Elsie Van Name, who also appeared as Gaston's avaricious mother. A native of Boston, the now forgotten Mae Gaston appeared with several Universal stock companies from the mid-1910s; her screen career did not outlast the decade.
