In order to reclaim a set of priceless pearls, a girl must enter into a Sultan's harem in this sensationalistic serial released by the Pathé organization. Mollie King played the girl, Creighton Hale, her rescuer, and Leon Bary appeared as the villain, a spirited gent amusingly named "Perry Mason." This otherwise successful serial had a troubled production, losing its initial director, Burton L. King, after five of the 15 chapters. He was replaced with Donald McKenzie, a veteran actor/director who had earlier co-directed Pearl White's groundbreaking The Perils of Pauline in 1919. The sister of Broadway hoofer and early talkie star Charles King, Mollie King was positioned to take over from a tired and injured Pearl White as Pathé's premiere serial queen, but she hated the brutal work hours and returned instead to the stage.
