Lubin's The Samaritan's Courtship was evidently filmed at the Philadelphia-based studio's winter quarters in Florida. Rushing to catch her train, a wealthy young woman accidentally leaves her fare money at home. A handsome stranger saves her from arrest by paying her fare, whereupon she promises to pay him back if he'll call upon her at home. Taking her up on her invitation, the young man finds the girl in her pantry, wearing servant's clothing (it's the maid's day off). Assuming that she has lied to him about her financial status, the hero contemptuously demands a kiss as compensation for the money he loaned her.
