This video is one of a three-part series on great British poets. This volume focuses on the Romantic era, and some of its leading figures, such as Wordsworth, Coleridge, Byron, Shelley, and Keats. The Romantic movement was characterized by a veneration for nature and its connection to the spiritual realm, as well as a deep feeling for the rights of common people. Thus many of the movement's proponents became involved in the egalitarian revolutions of the era. With readings from selected works, representations, re-enactments, and scholarly interviews, the story is told of the tumultuous times in which these authors lived.
