Bob Van Dyke (Tom Forman) comes from a wealthy family; Jenny (Blanche Sweet) comes from the slums. They meet up when her foster father has her break into a house. It turns out to be Bob's, but he catches her in the act and convinces her to go straight. A romance springs up between the two, and the day comes when Bob considers stealing because he's in desperate need of some cash. Jenny helps keep him honest, and he winds up getting a 20-dollar-a-week job (paltry wages even in those days). Apparently, the moral here is that money can't buy happiness but honesty can. Screenwriter (and later director) William C. De Mille -- Cecil B. De Mille's older brother -- was clearly still developing his cinematic style when he penned this film.
