Another of the many "rejuvenation" comedies of the era, The Professor's Discovery begins as the titular scholar develops a magical mixture in his laboratory. The wondrous formula obliges anyone who consumes it to dance merrily through the streets. After hopping, skipping and jumping all over town, the professor generously allows others to partake of his serum. By film's end, everyone in town -- from a humble washerwoman to a sober-sided parson -- is "cutting a rug" with gay abandon. Hardly an original story, The Professor's Discovery was redeemed by the credibility of the acting.
