This Edison drama was set during the Napoleonic Era. When his only son is killed on the battlefield, an elderly innkeeper vows eternal vengeance against the warlike Emperor Napoleon. The old man makes his way to the Royal Palace, there to "do in" the Little Corporal. He doesn't succeed, but he still manages to strike a blow in favor of universal pacifism. The story of The Price of Victory had been previously filmed several times, but the critic for Variety regarded the one-reel Edison version as the best of the batch.
