This powerful two-reel documentary was produced through the auspices of the Office of War Information. Narrated by Arnold Moss, the film is a plea to provide food and other necessities to the downtrodden youth of war-torn Europe. Utilizing miles of newsreel footage, producer-writer Irving Jacoby follows the trail of tears from China to Europe, allowing some of the more horrifying examples of hunger and deprivation to eloquently speak for themselves. The film concludes by showing the Herculean efforts of the UNRRA to deal with the dilemma at hand. The Pale Horseman was distributed to civic and charitable organizations by Brandon Films.
