When Paul Wright, an American art dealer (Cort Alberson), goes to Persia to make some purchases he winds up in a lot of trouble. He buys some items from the wealthy Mustapth, who invites him to play cards with his friends. But they get in a violent argument and the lights go out. When they come back on, Mustapth is dead and Wright is holding a knife. He drops it and flees the country. Mustapth's daughter, Hera (Anna Orr), swears vengeance and follows Wright to America. Unbeknownst to her, her lover, Alam (Rollo Lloyd), also comes to America. Hera finds out that Wright frequents a certain restaurant and becomes a veiled dancer there. She captivates him with her sinuous moves and invites him to her home. Alam has hidden in her library, intending to wed her as soon as she has fulfilled her mission. But when she tries to kill Wright, he overpowers her and insists he is innocent of murdering her father. Alam then bursts out and attacks Wright. In the ensuing struggle, Alam stabs himself. As he dies, he admits that he killed Mustapth -- who didn't approve of his relationship with Hera -- and shoved the knife into Wright's hand. As Alam dies, Wright comforts the stunned dancer.
