King Baggot was the star, and, very likely the director of the Universal three-reeler The Law of Life. The story, an unusually sordid one, concerns the efforts by a spurned lover to get even with his former sweetheart. The villain lures his rival into a life of sin and degradation, and it is years before the poor fellow is fit for proper society again. Fortunately, he is ultimately regenerated, at which point he returns to the heroine, who has never given up hope that he'd pull himself together. Variety denigrated the film as a "nickelodeon picture," meaning that it wasn't worth the standard 15-cent admission.
