Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel Rodney Stone was the basis for the British 5-reeler House of Temperley. The film concerns two half-brothers, both living in the home of a prosperous blacksmith. The adopted son is straight-arrow, but the natural son is a gambling wastrel. When the gambler is killed, the adoptee is accused of murder. House of Temperley proved popular enough to remain in release long after its original 1913 production date.
