This documentary by Vera Stroyeva explores the rich, artistic world of Russian ballet, opera and folk music. Following a young soprano as she auditions at the Bolshoi Theatre, the film covers the arts through rehearsals for the tempestuous opera "Prince Igor," as well as the savage ballet of the "Polovetsian Dances" contrasted by excerpts from the traditional "Swan Lake." In addition, an aria from Glinka's "Ivan Susanin" fills out this vibrant display of Russia's artistic heights.
