Prolific screenwriter Bess Meredyth was responsible for the three-reel Bison Western, The Ghost Wagon. Edythe Sterling stars as Bara, who, after being orphaned during an Indian attack, was raised by an old prospector named Fleming (A. Edmundson). Upon striking it rich, Fleming is ambushed by three scoundrels, who in their efforts to ascertain the location of the old man's claim end up killing him. Bara is left all alone to guard the claim herself, refusing the help of interested party Tom (Warren Ellsworth), whom she assumes is a fortune-hunter. But Tom proves his love for Bara by rescuing her from an Indian attack -- and, later, saving her from the clutches of a claim-jumping half-breed. Curiously, though the latter character was the film's principal villain, the actor playing him was uncredited.
