Despite its title, the Greek The Germans Strike Again takes place after WW II. Set in Athens during the postwar reconstruction era, the film concentrates on the intramural political bickering amongst the citizenry. Escaping from this tense situation, a war veteran Basil Logothetidi takes a nap. While dreaming, he relives his nerve-shattering wartime experiences. His dream reaches a climax at a deserted insane asylum which turns out to be the headquarters of the Greek Resistance movement. The Germans Strike Again proved too centralized in its appeal to succeed as an American release.
