Myra Traverse (Madeline Pardee) goes out for the evening with her husband's shiftless brother, John (Lew Cody), and a mutual friend, Tony Peters. They wind up at a roadhouse and when Tony catches John and Myra entwined, a fight breaks out. Tony's head hits the table and he is killed. Myra and John sneak out through a side window and Tony is found by drunken old Tom Mason (Daniel Gilfeather), who had been arguing with him earlier. Tom is held for Tony's murder and the prosecuting attorney is Myra's husband. Myra keeps her mouth shut and watches miserably as Tom is convicted for a crime he did not commit. On the day Tom is about to be executed, his furious wife goes gunning for the D.A. But John comes between the shot and his brother. As he dies he reveals the real circumstances. Tom is freed and attorney insists that he and Myra must do everything they can to put things right.
