This low-budget four-reel drama had no star names to speak of. When businessman Arnold Hammond (William Ehfe) suffers the DT's he realizes that his drinking is getting out of hand. He travels to a small fishing village to seek treatment from Dr. Storm. However, it's really Hammond's love for the doctor's daughter, Ruth (Margaret Landis), which helps set him straight. Ruth is torn between her love for Hammond and her fascination with the charming Pierre Lemoyne, a fisherman (Gordon Sackville). It gets even more confusing for her when Hammond buys a yacht and hires Lemoyne as crew. But during the cruise Lemoyne reveals his true nature. When a storm starts blowing, Hammond suggests going back and Lemoyne calls him a coward. The vessel overturns and they are rescued by a fishing boat. Lemoyne gets his hands on a bottle of whiskey, and he beats Hammond, who refuses to drink with him. Any interest Ruth ever had in the fisherman vanishes, and she wisely accepts Hammond's marriage proposal.
