As America's entry into WWI drew ever closer, documentary films of the Great Conflict continued to do excellent business in stateside moviehouses. Running a little less than seven reels, The Austro-German Fronts was distributed by the Elko Film Corporation. The film began with a lengthy prologue, concentrating on the members of the Austrian government. Things then pick up with some "on-the-spot" coverage of Austrian army maneuvers on the Italian front. This is followed by scenes culled from the campaigns in Russia and Rumania, mostly the rounding up of prisoners. Though actual combat scenes were at a minimum, The Austro-German Fronts was compelling enough to make up for this "flaw."
