This documentary explores the bewildering and, to outsiders, chaotic art and gallery world of New York City. Some fabulously ugly works sell for millions, while obviously superior works (some by well-known artists) sell for a pittance. Reputations are gained and lost in very little time, and high-level marketing seems to be the essence of the whole scene. In addition to providing an overview of the gallery scene, the filmmaker interviews artists and promoters as well as all sorts of gallery-goers, including those who are there purely to enjoy the magic of feeling stylish.
