No one in 1907 could possibly have known the role that the H.M.S. Lusitania would play in world events eight years later. The Arrival of the Lusitania was filmed on the occasion of the great liner's first crossing from England to New York. For the most part, the film was a straightforward newsreel. Perhaps to inject some entertainment value, one scene was shot in fast motion (a trick accomplished by undercranking) to emphasize the liner's great speed. Arrival of the Lusitania was released in tandem with Across the Ocean on the Lusitania.
