Jorge Bodansky and Wolf Gauer traveled with Senator Evandro Carreira into the state of Amazonas, filming native tribes like the Ticuna that were not well-recorded before their trip. The Senator was able to obtain tribal permission to film many customs and rituals that had not been seen before, creating a unique anthropological record for students of the region. The trip took the small crew up the Solimoes River, then to several small towns beyond the capital of the state, into these previously under-studied cultures.
