One gets the impression that the Variety critic was displeased with the Universal three-reeler Surrender, else why would the critic use such words as "idiotic" in his assessment? Spurning the attentions of a small-town mechanic, the heroine prefers to search for a wealthier, handsomer husband. Instead, she falls into the clutches of notorious white slaver Tony the Wop (political correctness is not this film's strong suit). The mechanic agrees to rescue the girl from a life of harlotry, but only on the condition that she marry him. Reluctantly, she surrenders, and proceeds to make her new husband's life miserable until awakening to the fact that she genuinely loves him.
