Telugu filmmaker B.N. Reddi directs and Vauhini Pictures produces this reformist melodrama about widow remarriage. The film centers on the liberal-minded Sathyam (Giri) who has beguiled a pair of young women: one is his bucolic cousin named Parvati (Malathi) while the other is the beautiful, sophisticated, and wealthy Saraswathi (Kumari). Everyone's life slides into emotional turmoil when Saraswathi learns that she was married and widowed as a young child, preventing her from marrying again. The situation is solved when Parvati agrees to commit suicide so that her love and her rival may be together. This film bombed at the box office when it first came out, almost bankrupting Vauhini Pictures in the process.
