Director Jean Aurel presents a diatribe against Joseph Stalin in this one-sided documentary that will offend some viewers and not go far enough for others. The dictator's political career is sketched through narration and archival footage, with emphasis on his political miscalculations (such as believing Hitler would not invade the USSR) and his "purges" of millions of people. Stalin died in 1953, and even today the pluses and minuses of the dictator are still under debate, though that is not a debate considered in this 103-minute documentary.
