Skier Training was released as a companion feature for theGaumont comedy The Dunce Cap. The locale of this scenic film was not identified, though it certainly looked like the Alps. The skiers depicted herein managed to learn their craft with a minimum of tumbles and pratfalls. Apparently, the final scenes consisted of these same skiers sliding merrily down a snowy slope. This wasn't enough for the Variety reviewer, who complained that there wasn't enough skiing in the picture. Interestingly, the titular sport was described by Variety as a "foreign winter pastime," indicating that Americans hadn't yet taken skiing to their hearts.
