Akio Murahashi directs this yakuza film set entirely in one room. The film opens with Kyohei (Sho Aikawa) making a video congratulating his cohort on his transition to sushi chef and marrying the cute Chikako (Masumi Sanada). Kyohei's gang, the Yamamuro-gumi, is disbanding after years of decline thanks to police pressure and a bum economy. The boss Yumamuro (Tsunehiko Watase) and his number two, Kuichi (Morio Kazama), are both also planning to move into the life of the straight and narrow. Then calamity strikes: The boss of the rival Sasajima-gumi has been murdered, and the killer was one of their own. Their plans of gentle retirement fade, as they face violent, bloody death. A yakuza fixer (played by cult film auteur Seijun Suzuki) offers an ultimatum: the body of the gang boss or a hundred million yen. Lieutenant Otaki (Naomasa Musaka), who was never too keen on disbanding, is ready to fight, but others aren't so enthusiastic. The boss has the money stacked up in a safe, but the only one with a key is Yumamuro's spoiled trophy bride Rie (Narimi Arimori) who is not about to throw away her long-planned European life of leisure. Meanwhile, another gang member (Ryo Amamiya) unexpectedly returns from the clink.
