Featuring an "All-Negro" cast, this silent Madame X imitation was released by Reol Productions, a film company specializing in African-American melodramas. Edna Morton, the company's leading actress, stars as a poverty-stricken mother forced to give one of her boys up for adoption. Taken in by a doctor, the boy grows up to become an assistant district attorney, and unbeknownst to anyone but his mother, is one day prosecuting his own brother. Founded by white New York businessman Robert Levy, Reol Productions lasted from 1920-1924.
